You know, I really don't have any issue with winter, except that it really drags itself out. This one has been a particular bugger... I think there has been at least patches of snow on the ground since Christmas. Today the sun was big and bright... being a total tease, since it really wasn't actually all that warm. Still nice to see something bright, I think. After all, we're on the last breath of February, and that means it's almost March. March means it's darn near Spring... even if there is a freak snow storm thrown in the mix. It means sun, green things, and doing some much needed work outside. I've spent the last couple weeks fantasizing about my big, beautiful garden... I have all my seeds purchased, and a few are getting their starts at this very moment. It will be wonderful to have my own veggies and herbs right outside my door. Fresh as can be. I love veggies.
Even with my distaste for winter, I have still been glued to the Winter Olympics. Of course, I'm a total Olympic junkie, so I try to watch every minute of it that I can. How fun is it to see all these crazy sports that generally aren't very main stream? I've really enjoyed the snowboard and ski cross, it's pretty wild. The moguls were fun, and the snowboarding in the half pipe was just nuts. I love the figure skating too, I'm just a sap like that. They're very sparkly. I'm looking forward to the women's free skate tonight. I've also been participating in the Ravelympics. It's a challenge for knitters to start a project during the Opening Ceremonies and finish it by the end of the Closing Ceremonies. I am doing a cabled baby sweater (
Trellis) for a co-worker who is expecting. I have all the knitting done, now it's just seaming, finishing, washin' and sendin' it out. I should finish close, but comfortable. Of course, I don't have any recent of decent progress pictures, but it's chocolate brown. Use your imagination. ;)
(I apologize for the under-par writing this time. I'm distracted... the Olympics are on!)
