"Trivia" - Yanagi, 5/6/2005

Recently, even though I want to do a lot of things, I'm not able to do them, and I often say “Kuso~.”[1]

I think that everyone, too, definitely whispers “Kuso~” secretly once a day.
...Does everyone know the history of the word “Kuso~?” I'll tell you ☆

When I was in middle school, in social studies we studied about “Perry,” haven't you heard this~?[2] The guy who came to Japan on a black ship. The word “Kuso~” was heard from him. Perry arrived in Japan, and when he went to the toilet, he was surprised by the Japanese style and cried, “Oh, shit!!” The Japanese people who were surprised by that voice said, “What did he just say?” and asked the people who understood English and Japanese. Thereupon they were told, “Unko.”[3] He was having a bowel movement, so in regard to “unko,” saying “unko” is too reasonable, and ridiculous. The truth is that it was Perry's first time with the Japanese style; his tension got out of order, and he said, “Oh, shit!” The Japanese people asked this to people some time ago. When they did, they were taught that “it's a word you use when you're surprised!”; from that point on, it became so that Japanese people use “kuso~.”

"Trivia 2 ☆" - Yanagi, 5/14/2005

The word “donmai” has been used in Japan for a while.

The meaning of the word “donmai” is “don't mind.”
It's English! Most people know that, huh? Right, do you know not just the meaning, but the history of “donmai?”
I'll tell you!

Michael Jackson' first trial (of course, he did bad things...) was about nine years ago. Midway through that trial, Michael's whispered words were, “Don't mind.”
It spread through intervals of mass communication, and it reached Japan's mass communication, too. When Japanese people who couldn't speak English (mass communication) said these words time and time again, it was abbreviated, and the word “donmai” was born.

Only, even if you say “donmai” to foreigners, the conversation will not be logical, so be careful~. Right, don't catch a cold!...

"Trivia 3 ☆" - Yanagi, 5/18/2005

Do you know why we call animal excrement “fun”?[4] I think that everyone definitely does not know. So, I will explain it so that it's easy to understand!!

This is something that happened before the year 1980.

At this time, the celebrated person “Nishikino Ryuunosuke” ordered his retainers, “Take the animals! Immediately!” Thereupon, they took the “Dog” out. This was the first “walk.” When they were taking the walk, the dog suddenly didn't move, and had a “bowel movement.” Near the surprised Nishikino, a woman said “fun”[5] and passed him on the street.
Ishikino returned home and told this to his retainers. Thereupon the retainers told it to various people. So, it was transmitted from person to person and street to street without exception. Before you know it, that discussion had changed to, “A woman walking along saw 'excrement' and said 'fun.'”

If I say it accurately, since before the year 1979, it's become so that animal excrement is called “fun.”

"Have you taken your vitamins recently?" - Yanagi, 5/25/2005

Because you have to be 20 years old to drink sake *sweat + smile*

I'll have a discussion unrelated to the picture...

I “don't give up!” on a lot of things.

I constantly think like that. Maybe my hobby is changing things I'm “not able to do” into things I'm “able to do.”

My body...it’s the [something I can't understand] of my symptoms, but I won’t leave it behind! That is to say, I won’t let it be left behind! Watch me! Because I’m making a comeback!!
