recently I've found myself concerned with my apathy. Admittedly, this is a somewhat self-nullifyingly strange thing to be concerned about, but who are you to judge

those are stunning counter-examples. i do of course, wish to make a sociological distinction between the TYPES of activities which you are "entrusting" to strangers. the latter list involves activities that are considered normal, everyday, average situations. it is a social assumption that we will be able to perform these in our day without harrassment, maintaining mental and physical space, and trust professionals (which people driving a car are technically supposed to be some delineation of/ well there is some kind of test, age req.) (and of course, alot of people, like women, for instance, are NOT able to go about these normal activities for the sake of their gender/sexual identity). even EVERYDAY politics proceeding with justice, and without major incident are considered our right

I guess the only really good reason to protest a war or get involved in activism is because it makes you feel good. I mean, it's very gratifying when someone says, "you can't stop that evil law from passing!" and you say, "watch me!" And it also just feels right to fight for a cause sometimes, even when you know you're going to lose. People are always telling me that my Veganism isn't going to make a great big difference and I know that, but it makes me happy that I'm not part of the problem so fuck if I care how effective it actually is...well anyhow, I would also argue that you aren't really apathetic either since you obviously care about dying Iraqi children (otherwise you woudln't try to ignore the problem, it just simply wouldn't bother you in the first place.) You're not apathetic; you're angry and disillusioned.
...it's pretty futile. I don't eat meat and shit because I'm not into that shit. I'm working on a new theory of philosophical living and it's called "corrupt and destroy" theory. Basically, whereas Aristotle says our highest priority, the virtue that is granted soley to us as humans is to reason and think, I believe that our sole tendancy (or virtue?) is our incredible ability to corrupt and destroy everything that we come in contact with. Therefore, it is our job as humans to corrupt and destroy to our fullest capability and maximum capacity everything we can, including ourselves! Jon, please send me free shit from you job. I love you. Conna, you can a-suckkkk-it!!!! OUCH. Burn. I'll buy and sell you.
