The hurricane is going to hit Monday night. I will be over at my Aunt's apparently. They do not have a sturdy house, but they do have generators, a lot of food and several vehicles with gas in them in the event that it looks like it's going to hit us hard and that we have to leave at the last minute. Hey, could be fun, Katrina and Rita were. We had a gamer party, there were like 5pc and several consoles with 5-6 people gaming. This one may be worse then Katrina. The flooding may be much worse. At least people are taking this one a bit more seriously, no hurricane had hit us before like Katrina did. Maybe with that still fresh in their minds they are going to make the right decisions in regards to parishes on the coastal landing sites. They are doing mandatory evacuations, they have buses available this time, they are keeping peoples pets in mind. They are not taking the almost casual stance with this one that had happened with Katrina.
While I'm in the baton rouge area, and we generally do not get hit hard, I am not in a completely safe zone. We will feel it where we are, we felt Katrina and this one may not hit New Orleans, it may go farther west, then we would really feel it. It may even hit us, or at least get close enough to do some damage.
I am tacking sentences together strangely, I just know I am, but I am too tired and have too much brain fog to be able to pinpoint exactly why they look odd and how to make them better... I think that I used all sensibility up in Sim_spam.
I didn't go to Arkansas, I probably would have, had they not stressed me out about it. I've been doing good and having a wonderful time, but so much is up in the air still that my stress level is barely contained and their badgering had put it over the edge until I just didn't want to deal with it. Had they been calmer with their concern and mentioned how nice it would be to have me visit instead of ZOMG GET OUT NOW YOU ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!, or at least the variation that they used on me, then I would have gone.
Got the job though, since it's after midnight, I go in later today. At 10:30-ish. That's when he told me to come in, 10:30-ish. I'll hang around for about 5 or so hours and then leave. Billy is at his moms for the hurricane so I'll go see him. Maybe he can ride with me to get pet food. I'm getting extra just in case. We don't know what the storm will do and Shoe may be trapped down his road for a while with flooding, so I'm getting extra for my fuzzy babies. ....uhh, yeah, that's it. The boyfriend is farther north then I am, so at least I don't have to worry about him. ...well, not about the storm at any rate.
