Title: cursing in the dark
'Verse/characters: Trickwood Unification; Hernén, Belladonna
Prompt: 34D "moon"
Word Count: 1257
Notes: This . . could be continued, but I ran out of hand points. My guess on timing is after Fintain's been to the Trickwood, but before Arianhrod is invited to visit.

---------

His warning was a growl and a sneeze from the two wolves on either side of him. )

belladonna, list d, hernén, wild roses, trickwood unification

They have no moon in their . . . hmm, I forget what the name is, if they have one, their regular world then?

They are probably fortunate they aren't on a world where the moon affects shapeshifters. Wouldn't that be a dreadful surprise?

Nope. It went poof when the worlds went smish, back in the day. Moons are Very Disconcerting.

And the home cities/territory that includes the Trickwood don't yet have an official name. Because they're like that. =|

"Oh, that's just one of the sky gods' toy balls. You just have to watch out when it goes all dark because that is when it fall out of the sky, hits the ground, and then bounces back up."
. . . *gives Wish a VERY STERN LOOK*
/facepalm

This is why Urban Fantasy is better because you can just play "Spin the globe" and pick a city name! (personal names are the bane of my existence)

*loftily ignores Wish*

Personal names are EASY--just find a rough idea of nationality/right sorts of mouth-sounds and there's websites everywhere. It's city names that are a pain in my ass. *grumps*

dude. strange new shimmering light in the sky would be creepy as fuck.

i love the whole bit of finding a new edge. it's very visual. and touching, the bit where he carefully adjusts the spell on her eyes--and the nature of the spell itself, that's just plain cool.

And painful, given that the apparently didn't have upper limits in the ambient-light-gatherers. Ow.

Thank you--I wanted a better sense of surroundings, the sorts of trees involved, the terrain, but it just wouldn't work. Am glad it worked out relatively visual anyway.

any problems between the werewolves, and the moon?
