We are back at work.
I will be tired for at least the next week because of our Mardi Gras celebrating.
On a positive note we made a lot of discoveries in the city. We ate at Cafe Du Monde, walked along the Mississippi River, wandered the quarter shopping around boutiques, noted concert venues and restaurants we'll want to revisit.
We went to Bourbon St twice. The first night we just kind of... walked around amazed by the filth and half naked drunk girls. The second night we went to a couple of clubs and drank some crazy grain alcohol slushies. I was a little disgusted and disappointed. I wanted to be impressed by the atmosphere of mindless debauchery and the undeniable soul of old New Orleans. Maybe Bourbon St does represent that on chance occasions, but I didn't see it during Mardi Gras.
Anyway. I am trying to recover. My body still feels drunk.
