So I have to write a paper in the next, like, HOUR...

"First-person narration is a closed system in that we readers have no frame of reference outside our own experience and the world of the speaker. This 'I-You' relationship is probably the most intimate of reading relationships. Re-read the story [The Yellow Wallpaper] to trace your own process of alienation from the narrator. How does Gilman construct a narrative voice that signals 'crazy'? What is the pattern of tone, diction, reference, repetition, whatever you find, that gradually kicks you out of identification? One other way of pursuing this topic is to develop your own idea of what constitutes a 'normal' voice and to start from when you definitely identify her voice as 'abnormal.' How so?"

u__u And this has to be done, like, SOON. *flails, dies*

Molly's comment upon hearing the subject: "I think I understood what I just read in Spanish better than what you just said in English."

I heart being an English major, really I do.

Also to be done tonight: reading and a response for my first-year seminar and reading and questions for my intro to linguistics.

Actually, fortunately those last two things just have to be done by 11:30 tomorrow morning. But still.

Also, I am watching Inuyasha in fifteen minutes. Nothing shall stop me from doing this. NOTHING, I tell you.

So, yeah, basically I'm just like not going to sleep tonight.

...also, I need to redo my mood theme. Lately it has started to annoy me that they're all different sizes. That's gonna have to be a weekend project, though.

inuyasha, school
