Well, I'm a great idiot. Today was Tuesday, not Monday, and I didn't have the classes I thought I did at all. Unfortunately, I didn't figure this out til the first of them was starting and I was still home. Thankfully, I was still able to get there and it was all first-day-of-class stuff - mostly going over the syllabus.

Anyway, the classes I have Tuesdays and Thursdays are government from 9:30 - 10:50 (yawn) and cultural studies from 11:00 - 12:20. I think I'm going to really enjoy that one, actually; the class is entitled "Out and About: Queer Life and American Culture."

I got to watch the inauguration ceremony after all! My professors for my cultural studies class (it's a joint-taught one) had it streaming in the classroom when I got there, and I made it just in time to see Biden and then Obama both get sworn in. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

I'm only about a hundred and twenty pages from the end of The Other Boleyn Girl, and enjoying it intensely. Happily, I also have the sequel in my car! And I still have American Gods I have lots of reading material still when I'm done.

I got a phone call from my mother about an hour and a half ago saying she'd taken Kimmie (that's my sister) to the emergency room after her basketball game. A few weeks back she was having intense stomach pains, and she went to a couple of different doctors but no-one could ever say for sure what was wrong with her; she was prescribed a couple of different medications, I think, and to the best of my knowledge it went away for a while but apparently now it's back. When I talked to my mother on the phone she described it as "like cramps, but higher up, in her stomach." I'm still waiting to hear back from her on more.

kimmie, yay obama!, books yey, politics, school, health stuff
