Many non-Brits wonder quite why we Brits spend so much time talking about the weather. Well that's simple, it's because we get so much of it in such a short space of time.
The last few days have been hot and at times muggy with blue skies, wall to wall sunshine and completely dry. It's been a case of windows open, back-door open, fans on (day and night), light clothing being too warm, and what can we have for supper that doesn't involve actually turning the oven on.
Today we have torrential rain and misty grey skies. The windows are all closed, as is the back-door, the fans are still and silent, socks, jumpers and warmer trousers have again been dug out, and supper will be something hot.
That's why we talk about the weather so much *g*
Oh, and I'm sure I don't need to say which I prefer, do I? Just in case I do, I shall: I prefer what we have today.
