I have a recording. It is bad quality, but I am tired of waiting for it to become available in the music library.
Warning, I hit a few bad notes, but overall, it was a good performance...for a first try.

After my lesson with Dr. Stusek on Thursday, he said, "If you keep improving with that tone, you will be a monster." He used the word "monster" though, he meant it in a positive way. He was very flattering on Thursday. I didn't know what to say to him when he was complementing me. I was kinda...I dunno. Appalled? Taken back, I suppose. I am not used to so much positive feedback. Though, I am not becoming pompus. I still suck compared to everyone else here. One complement means nothing. Well, ok, coming from Dr Stusek, it means helluva lot.
Finally, though, I enjoy playing. I have confidence. I know I am doing well, and practicing doesn't seem like a chore anymore. There was a point where I wanted to throw all of this away. I wanted to melt my saxophone, form the liquid brass into bullets and shoot them into my head. Now I feel better. I feel like I can become something now. I don't feel like anything is out of my reach.
...now I have to pass music theory and ear training. OMG.
Thanks for reading and listening.

Amy
