I posted a pic of it before, but it is worth posting again. The pizote. We encountered more than one, but this was our very first. It was walking on the side of the road as we were driving in Tapanti park. We stopped the cars and he came to us. Dunno how used this one with humans was, but he surely was friendly. We met later others that were very used to humans.
It was looking for food. It came to us sniffing us, like asking for food.
Unfortunately, we didn't have any. Maybe he found somewhere else, we didn't meet him again when we came back that road.
The mountains covered by mist and forests. Being winter there, it rained few times a day, and even if it was sunny, there was this thick layer of mist and clouds on tops of the mountains.
Being a zone with so much humidity, not only that everything there is covered by vegetation, but the plants are really huge. Like these ferns, more than 1 meter long.
Speaking of huge... This is called "the hat of the poor", because time ago, people who didn't have umbrellas, used such leaves to protect themselves against the rain.
Because of so much rain, the river turned brown.
Some strange flowers.
And little bananas.
Don't know what purpose the boot served.
Heavenly beauty.
After the rain.
I know, I know, I posted with these nest before. But looks like they are typical for Costa Rica too. A lot of restaurants or places had one, two or more hanging there as well. Those weren't used anymore, but these in the tree were. And the birds are really tiny, too.
A light coming from the havens.
And a shop we stopped at for the smokers to buy their ciggies.
