I guess 1st of January is for many a dead day. I say many because there are other "many" that actually go out and have fun or at least a bit of movement after sitting inside and stuffing themselves with holidays food. Yesterday we went out a bit, to Moritzburg, where's this castle in the middle of a lake. In the winter they take the water out of the lake and the remains freezes, turning the place into a ice skate-ring. Many come with their families, like to a picnic, bringing blankets, food, drinks, the hokey stuff, if they want to play hokey, and, of course, the ice skates. There were some that came with their infants in the prams, and were sliding on the ice, with the prams too. They also opened a mini-cafe on the ice, where people could buy Glühwein and other winter specialities. And there were so many, many people, all the parking places were really busy.
It was rather cold and snowing a bit too.
But it was nice to walk in the woods, around the frozen lake.
There were many only walking through the woods and around the lake (but didn't want them in my pic :P)
They promised snow in the next days too.
They finished restoring the castle, and they decorated it nicely for the winter hols.
Inside the castle there's a cafe, but the castle also can be visited, and many were doing that.
