(no subject)
Ugh. What a terrible weekend. Eric was on call, so he was grumpy to begin with, but then when our internet went out... *sigh* I mostly worked on my dress... but not enough. I'm nearly done with the dress part (nearly? Hah!) but there are so many other pieces that have to come together before I can call it done... and my peacock feathers, which I knew were not really good, were declared really not good... so I have to figure out how to make fake ones. The natural ones are just too tan, not white at all.
Still, there is dress progress! The bodice is done, the buttons (20) are sewn on, and the buttonband is in! I tried just knotting the cord to make the button band, but ended up crocheting a band and sewing that in. It works! I really like that it has functional buttons!
Ooh, looking at these pictures, I just realized that I forgot to put the flanges in while I was sewing the bodice together! ARGH! Well, I'll have to figure out a different way to put them in. Probably with some bias tape to cover the raw edges...
Also, the shoes came in. They have... a bit wilder buckles than it looked online... And they are suuuper high. I was going to wear them to work today to see how they'd feel, but it was pouring out, and they're suede, so I figured that maybe I wouldn't ruin them on their first day out. I hope it's nicer tomorrow! I do like the shoes, even if they're too tall for con shoes...
Anyway, for those who are here just for the cat updates... I went upstairs last night, and all three cats were sharing the bed! That is a new development! They were taking up my entire side of the bed, of course! When I started to get into bed, the two little ones went downstairs, so I got to pet Asi for a bit. Then they came back and ran him off. Apparently, three kitties fit in a bed, but three kitties plus me don't.
