Getting ready for Thursday
So... this weekend. I saw Harry Potter on Friday. It was a lot of fun to hang out with my friends! Too many Ravenclaws, though! If I weren't so busy being one of the few Hufflepuffs, I'd turn Slytherin in protest!
Saturday and Sunday were pretty much dedicated to getting ready for Thanksgiving. My guest room is ready to show people, again! And I finally have enough bread pans to make more than one loaf of bread (and a million mini loaves! I do love my mini loaf pans!) at a time! This is Oatmeal Bread, which is easy and delicious! I might just make the dinner rolls on Thursday out of this.
I also decided to use my coworkers as guinea pigs. Our Thanksgiving lunch is today, so I made Dorie's Caramel Pumpkin Pie (I LOVE her Baking book!). I made caramel from scratch! It has rum in it, but all the alcohol has burned off. Pity, the way today is going ;) I haven't tasted it, yet, but lunch starts soon!
Now I'm to the point where I am making lists and schedules so that everything will get done on time! Why do we cook so much food?
