Cosplay
So, last night my Maka coat came in! It is lovely, although I will need to take an iron to it. It is very very long! It goes down to my ankles! Quite a bit longer than I expected, but I am quite in love! (and now I read the description, and it totally says "ankle length)
Eric's Shinigami outfit came, as well... and, well, there is less love, there. It is much shorter than it looks in the picture (more like hip than mid-thigh length, and Eric is short), there are no arm holes, and the top is not stuffed enough to stay up on its own. I think we may end up incorporating a headband into the hood to keep it up properly. Oh well! It's here. He has no excuse for not working on the rest of the costume, now! (I think he will need a long black skirt rather than pants & shoes now. He may disagree.)
Last night I cut out half the pieces for my pirate hat. I felt a bit lazy about it because I have to go buy EVEN MORE gold trim before I can sew that up. Also, some cross stitch mesh for giving it some shape. And it was only today as I was gleefully crossing things off my cosplay list that I realized that I *still* haven't worked on the jewelry for my costumes, yet! That needs to be molded with paperclay, dried, painted, dried again and have beads set into it before I wear it, and one of those is for Ikuto's costume next week! Must get on that! (I just hate opening the paperclay package, because I only need a little of it, and the rest will dry and be wasted. I guess I could make a giant spade for my eventual Amulet Spade outfit...)
