Clockwork Ball, New Year's Eve

Jan 05, 2010 07:47

So, I promised a recap of the Clockwork Ball, but I don't know what to say, really. Eric made his plague doctor mask in about three days (But it was very good & creepy, other than the fastening mechanism, which we'll be fixing), I turned a Christmas ornament into a *fabulous* hat (although the rest of my outfit made me look like a streetwalker. *sigh*) Our friends were out and looking as fabulous as usual. It was very crowded, but I think it is every New Year. They had live music, but they started playing after midnight, and we were near the door, so we didn't hear much of them.

I was sick, thus the mask. If anyone started feeling sick Sunday, you can blame it on me (even if you weren't at the ball ;) Or, blame it on Eric, who went to bed on Sunday at 6:30, and skipped work yesterday. Poor guy.

And here's my first new project for the year! Here is the start of a vest for Ford Prefect! A friend is going to dress as him for Hero Con's Geek Auction, and even though argyle vests are in style right now, none of them are hideous enough to be Ford's! So, I'm very excited to be knitting it, even though I've been reminded as to how fiddly argyle is :) I'm working with a total of ten balls of yarn, although I'm only actually using nine at a time. I've got them all zipped up into a quart sized ziploc bag, and that helps. I actually was up to the points of this row of diamonds(the red/blue one), but had to rip out five rows because I had messed up. I'd better get my act together, because the auction is February 6! (Haha! I mistyped that as "action" at first! That, too!)

I'm still working on Ali's hat, and I have Grandpa's socks and Crystal's shawl just waiting for the next opening. I need to learn to knit faster!
