The old glasses are getting a little worn out, so I went to the eye doctors the other day for an exam + new glasses. Didn't need much of a change in prescription -- a little more astigmatism correction, apparently.
The optometrist dropped a few liquids in my eyes to dilate them and gave me a tissue to dab off the excess. Later I was sitting at a desk and happened to look at the tissue. There were yellow splotches on it. It weirded me out, for whatever reason, that the stuff in my eyes had an actual tint to it. I'd just assumed it was colorless.
On the bright side, no poofing the eyes to check for glaucoma or whatever.
Got KJ playing MM7 the other day. Surprisingly, she managed to get it to run on her laptop, although the sounds are screwed up for the most part. A real shame, that.* I'm tempted to load up the voice file in WinAmp and pick out some of the better bits for her, but I have a feeling that a nasty crash might result! Although apparently the file is less than 30 MB . . . hmm.
*A few months back I ran a few posts on my favorite authors. Some day in the future, I will probably do a series on my favorite computer games. Suffice it to say for now that the sounds, voices included, in Might and Magic 6 and 7 are among their biggest hooks for me.
