Looks like I'm going to be a square peg in a round hole with this job application. I'll consider several different ways to sand off my corners and doubtless pick the wrong one. (Which isn't to say that there must be a correct one.) If left to myself, probably the stupidest one.
Next week I expect I'll be a round peg and the world will have decided I need to go in a square hole.
Somehow I'm never small enough that shape doesn't matter. Odd how that happens.
(So I don't have the right degree for a particular job, okay, but I've got the other qualifications and from the description of the job I'm not sure how much of a factor the degree ought to be. So I get a nice resume hashed out and a lovely-if-I-say-so-myself cover letter written, and then realize this company's got its own little electronic submission system going that will only take one document, the resume. No room for a cover letter or accompanying text message at all. I was going to put the resume on the second page of the cover letter, but I think I'll probably end up lengthening the resume. And it will look awful, because either I'll include sub-bulleted list items and it'll look unprofessional or I'll have them all at the same strength of bullets and it'll look messy.)
