Hooray!

I did think they had a 50-50 chance of winning this game; Suppan seems to do well in the postseason, apparently.

I figured they'd lose the other one Perez started, everyone was going on about how Perez ought to be a soft spot in the Mets' rotation and then reading that he'd been working on his mechanics or whatever just capped it for me. And then sure enough they lost.

And then I figured they'd win the one Glavine started after the rainout. People would be relying too much on Glavine making the most of that extra day of rest. And sure enough they won.

And then I kinda figured they'd lose the latest one Carpenter started; it would be ironic after all the attention given to the importance of saving Carpenter to pitch twice in the NLDS (which they managed) and then start the NLCS (which didn't happen). And as it happened, they lost.

I'm sure the WS will be back to the usual unpredictability though. Assuming the Cardinals can actually hit for beans . . .
