Moving plans and Christmas
It's been almost two weeks since I last wrote here. Ehh. Time passes so quickly! On Sunday the 16th I and arvoitus visited Ikea and I bought some stuff for the new apartment, like a TV bench, a stand lamp with a paper shade and all kinds of small random things that we noticed I might need. Then we drove those and some ready-packed cardboard boxes from here to the new place. We had to make two rounds and it was pretty tiring, but we got it done and that was very good.
Next week I bought a new desk for my computer, also from Ikea. They hadn't had any left in the storage last time I visited, but they had received a new batch that week and I got the model I wanted. It's about one third smaller than the one I have now and it has wheels under it so I can move it around. Very handy. Also, it's black. :P Last Sunday (23rd) Joe came to visit and we drove the desk and some other boxes to the new place. Then I emptied all the boxes that were there and brought them back to be re-used. A useful trip it was.
Emily was also in the city last week (and still is). She came to visit me on Saturday and we had much fun watching Weiss Kreuz, an anime we last watched in 2001. Wanted to see if it would still be as good as we thought it was back then. It probably wasn't exactly the same this time, but still very entertaining and we ended up watching a whole 15 episodes of it even if the files I have aren't good quality. :) It was a good evening.
Christmas has been mostly nice. I've eaten too much, like one is supposed to, but we have also gone for walks with mum on the two previous days. She has a very nice route which takes us e.g. past a small stable and on both days there were pretty horses outside to be looked at. Yesterday all of us (I, mum and brother) went to see the movie I'm Not There which is about Bob Dylan. It probably would have been more enlightening if I had known something about the guy on beforehand, but it was still a very well made movie. Cate Blanchett was wonderful in her role as Dylan, I could have watched her for a long time. Hadn't realized how good an actress she is until now.
Today I'm going back to mum's to eat, then returning home to do something for a couple of hours and then we're going to see The Golden Compass with brother, finally. Emily may or may not come here in the evening after the movie. We will see.
Three days and then the moving to the new apartment happens. Haven't quite realized it yet. I have to start packing again!
