I've been shortening the legs of a couple of new trousers I've recently bought and yesterday I thought I'd also tackle the leather pants I bought about a year ago for 5 € (gotta love UFF). To my horror I noticed that I've gotten just a little too fat to wear them. Argh. I remember they were pretty tight to begin with, but now I can't even button them up. I want to be able to wear my leather pants! (yeah, even if they'd been lying around unused for a long time) This is intolerable.
From now on, for an unknown period of time, I will stop eating desserts at work. I will also try to eat less (more salad, less other food). I'm allowed to skip this rule once in two weeks. I will try to exercise more, e.g. take walks or go cycling or whatever, though I'm not awfully confident with this part... I mean, it's easy to take a walk, but much more difficult to make myself go do something more effective. Oh well.
My great-uncle's funeral was held on Saturday. We didn't bury him anywhere, though, because he wants to be cremated. The ashes will be scattered to the sea later.
We went to the church with a small party (about 10 people all in all) and a pretty, young female priest gave us a pretty speech. After that we drove to a congregational house nearby and had some coffee and cake. My godfather played the guitar and we told each other memories of the great-uncle. It went very nicely and the atmosphere wasn't too stiff even if none of us knew each other very well. The other relatives who attended the funeral were the great-uncle's cousins and their families.
After the funeral I went to mum's for a while and we went for an hour's walk. The weather was lovely.
On Sunday I went out for a walk all by myself late afternoon. I decided to go check this exercise track thingy we have nearby on Hakunila's side. It was lovely! The sun shone and I walked in the middle of fields and woods, ah. I spotted an agility training place for dogs as well, have to take Jutta there.
At the end the track went by the riding school I used to go to as a kid. Oh, the nostalgia. There was a pony lesson going on and I stopped to look for a short while. I couldn't recognize any of the ponies. Well, okay, it's been 8 years, so I guess most of them have changed. But still. Wah. Now I have a horrible urge to go riding. Also, I want Joe to visit us and we have to walk there. Maybe on the Placebo weekend if not earlier. The whole thing took about 2 hours and 15 minutes (perhaps 12 kilometres).
