Copenhagen Zoo

I've been back since Monday. I'm going to write about my trip in a couple of separate entries. They'd become way too long otherwise! It's good that I'm having a pretty quiet day at work. Who knows when I'd have time to write these things otherwise. Busy week.

Anyway, like I wrote earlier, we visited Copenhagen last Tuesday with Emily and Simo. I and Emily went to visit the zoo and I come bearing photos. There are some animals there you'd never be able to see in Finland, so it was all very cool.

When we first stepped into the zoo, there was a tower in front of us. We could've climbed up if we had payed for it, but we didn't.

There was a pond with different kind of birds hanging out there. Lookie! Pelicans! They weren't in a cage or anything, so I guess they can fly off when they feel like it.

Most of the animals had babies there. They were very cute. Here is an anteater who liked to walk around with the little one on his/her back. The lions had babies too, and here one of the camels is cuddling with their baby.

There was a polar bear in the zoo! I found this very cool. The bear was swimming when we walked by and s/he was kept in a pit with high walls, but there was no roof. The bear did a lot of diving, swimming next to a wall underwater, and suddenly jumping up, splashing water around and trying to reach the top.

This teddy bear is taking a nap. :P

Turtles were up and about.

There were these very strange creatures called mouse deer in English, or something like that. They do indeed look like they had a mouse's body and deer's legs! Though these ones are maybe a bit more rabbit-like instead of mousey.

I'm not sure what this one is, but maybe some sort of an antilope?

Elephants! They had a couple more inside a stable, eating. There was one male elephant and he was really big.

Lastly, a wolf with two babies. :)
