I went to Jyväskylä last weekend with
arkangeli and
hiljainen to see an old friend J who studies there for now. Funny thing was, J and his girlfriend live in the same apartment buildings where I stayed with my friends during Finncon 2004! :) If it wasn't the exact same building, then it was very close because I remembered the school and playground that were near the apartment.
It was a fun trip. The others talked quite a lot about roleplaying which was to be expected. We went to see Poets of the Fall's gig in Lutakko and it was all right. They played quite many new songs from their album that's going to be in stores soon. The new songs sounded pretty much the same as the older ones, at least with the first hearing. The youngest band member had his birthday then and the singer announced that the young one's finally 18 years old. "From now on, he can play in concerts legally!" :P
We went back home by bus and managed to see
worldsong for a couple of hours. He was on his way home, too, and we arranged it so we could go on the same bus. It was very nice to see him. I think it's been... a year since we last met? Probably. I've missed him at times.
At the beginning of this week I booked flights with
arkangeli to Copenhagen and back! He also convinced Emily to go with us which is fabulous. The Roskilde trip is becoming more and more real. We decided to stay a whole week in Denmark because the festival's camping site is open and it's free to stay there when you have a festival ticket. We can explore Copenhagen first and then we get to see some great bands live at the end of the week. Can't wait!
Yesterday I went drinking with some people from Alter Ego (university's roleplaying club). I was supposed to have only one or two ciders and then head home, but after those two drinks the others decided that we should go and continue the activity at Don's place. I found myself going along quite happily. Free drinks and all that. After having two glasses of vodka + coke mix I was quite drunk. I hadn't eaten anything in a few hours and that made the alcohol take effect even quicker than usual. I had fun anyway and I crashed at
arkangeli's for the night.
I've been pretty dazed today. I don't feel ill, just sleepy and a little weird. I got some work done anyway which is good. Tomorrow I have to visit the company where I've been doing research and testing some stuff for my thesis. That's for the morning. Then I have to remember to go buy a bottle of Koskenkorva, go home, do some work, go to taiji and travel to Turku. Will be a busy day.
But now I'll watch some Deadwood.
