In a world where we all are meant to think of each other as equal, how can we ever truly say we are; when there are those who excel so completely that no one can ever dream of matching their knowledge, their strength, their integrity.
So when that all disappears; when we lose the person we thought once was all those things and more, when we are left with an empty shell, what are we supposed to do?
Do we abandon them and hope they find a new path?
Or try our hardest to help them remember, even though the uncovered pasts will hurt them all so much more than feigned ones?
And as Ianto Jones scans the Bay one more time, hoping that she'll know to move towards him, this is the very battle his mind wages with his conscience as he sees his lover and boss move towards the prone woman.
