I suppose I'll take advantage of the internet working for the first time by updating this baby... Not that I've had much time to notice it hasn't been working.
My first week back to Kingston has been fabulous. I've been spending days getting my crap together at home or hanging out at Scotty's house, and nights with him and sometimes friends and his family. Oh, and training for work is in there too. I had trouble sleeping for the first five days, possibly due to only having a craptastic mattress. I was in what appeared to be a terribly drunken state from exhaustion, constantly trying to sleep and resulting in less than four hours five nights in a row. Got sick somewhere in there too. I could hardly even walk in a straight line. Finally, the last two nights I slept normal amounts as I stayed at Scott's house- it was super nice to have a whole real bed to myself for what felt like the first time in an eternity.
I've gone for a few trips down through big gorgeous fields to a secluded lake as an attempt at catching the sunset- we went rowing across which was beautiful because all I could hear were the 'sounds of nature'- loons, ducks, all birds, saw deer, etc. There was an incident with a huge hornet- thank god it was murdered or I'd have jumped out and tipped the damn thing. The coyotees were loud in the country last night. It's a neat change from home, as at home the country consists of woods and a lake. Here, it's ginormous fields that go on forever, and silence.
Spent one night camping (in a truck of all things) chez Corey's for a bonfire. I always used to call "bonfires" "bombfires". I actually thought that's what they were called and sometimes still forget.
What else. Grocery shopping, cooking... Cooked supper for Scott's parents the other day as a form of thanks for feeding me their food all the time.
Yesterday I played the piano for about five hours with a house to myself. Again, really nice.
I'm learning to drive a standard. Oh dear. That's trouble.
Weird. It's tuesday, and I haven't been here since saturday. Plan for today- clean till noon, put in lasagna for lunch, downtown afternoon to look for part time job, pick up father's day something, set up phone line, trip to bank, buy food for supper, cook supper, kidnap scott for grocery doage, aaaaaaaand then we shall see.
It is a BEAUTIFUL day.
Now I must go fill out a billion forms and do housework.
I hope things at home are going well and all friends are happily working away and enjoying time off. The internet has not worked until today so I haven't managed to sneak online or write any emails.
