Life is like a RollerCoaster

Yesterday morning started out with my hearing for Social Security Disability benefits. I don't think it went well. The judge seemed (by her tone of voice and facial expressions) to be very condescending and disbelieving. The vocational expert who is apparently at all of these things had to list vocations that I could do.. and not a one of those she listed could I really do. I think I scored points in pointing out that I have about three days a month when I can't function due to vertigo, and that no job would keep someone that had to call out thrice in a month. But I don't know. The results will be mailed to us, and I hope we get them soon.

Yesterday evening was quite a different story. :) Went on a date with Brock. He's a gentlemen - I didn't know any still existed. We saw Fun with Dick and Jane, then called Ashley to see what she was up to and maybe hang out with the group of friends. Turns out her and two others were headed to that same theatre to see The Producers, so we went to that too. Hung out for a bit at Friday's afterwards with the whole group of five, talking and eating, then he drove me home and walked me to my door. He likes so many things that I do: fantasy novels, Star Trek (yes, I'm a geek, and apparently he is too), just reading in general. I had a lot of fun, and we're planning on him coming to church with me on Sunday. I'm hoping Ashley also relents and we do something for her birthday, too, so that will be another excuse to hang out with him.

Then came this morning. I went to sleep in an odd position because I'd been propped up reading "Thud." Woke up, stretched, and pulled a neck muscle. I've been microwaving moist, clean washcloths all day because I don't have a heating pad.

Ya know, sometimes I'd pay to have a dull life.

books, health
