Well there was a bad rainstorm on the last Saturday of October. I was driving home after work and just dropped off my girlfriend. When just down the street and around the corner from her there was a huge puddle. I started driving through it and about halfway through the puddle my car stalled out! I looked out my door and saw that the water was halfway up my tires so that if I were to get out of my car from where I was, it would have been up to my knees! I was in a state of panic for a while and then I called my sister to find out what to do and possibly get some help. While I was on the phone with her, some nice people came and helped push me out of the puddle. Of course before they came though, there were SUV's and trucks that were ploughing there way through the puddle and it made it feel like my car was floating. Next thing I knew, there was 2 inches of water inside my car as well.
Once my car was out of the puddle, I had to start bailing the water out and my sister arrived on the scene to help me out. She called AAA for me and there was to be a wait time of about 3 hours. While we were waiting there were some pretty cool people hanging on the corner that offered us a beer while they watched other people get stuck in that puddle and helped them get out of the puddle as well.
When the tow truck driver finally got there all was well but my car was pretty much going to be a lost cause.
Next day we dried out as much of it as we could and tried to start it but no such luck.
So next I called my insurance up to find out what to do and they said to have a mechanic check it out then file a comprehensive claim.
Soon I find out that the car was damaged beyond what they'd repair and the insurance company declared it totaled.
So I had to say good-bye to my first car.
What a week :(
