It was really, really nice to see Heath again. Even as the Joker. And what a performance. Jesus Christ, that was creepy. It was not him. Heath was gone. At no point, none, did he remind me of any of his characters, of himself, anything ( Read more... )

I found the snarl unsettling in that scene because one second he's teasing the poor guy like you'd tease a small child, then the next second it's rage.

That's exactly it. Zero to psycho, and it came out of nowhere.

Jesus. That actually was, for me, one of the most disturbing moments. Other stuff bothered me or worried or upset me, but that actually pushed the fear button, and with this genre of thing that is very, very hard to do because I'm super-jaded from SO MUCH villain ranting, you know?

Right there with ya. He had a hair trigger on that character. But that's the way the Joker SHOULD be: frighteningly unpredictable. I found the pace of the movie to be a runaway train. The longer the Joker was on the loose, the worse things got, till you thought there was going to be nothing left of Gotham but smoking ruin.

I can't WAIT for Watchmen!

Excellent description of that moment.

And I've got to admit I must be a sick little puppy, because I found that moment incredibly hot. Er, taken out of context, anyway. Having just that line as an audio file I could play would be better than most porn for me.
