They are getting huge. Get a load of these feet:
That is Viktor.
Thanks to auntie
bat_cheva, we got a ride to the vet's office on Thursday, and the babies were summarily weighed, stuck with needles, and smeared with stinky flea-killing goo. Thank you, my dear, for the ride. It was so very much appreciated.
Anyway, the results?
Jack: One pound, eight ounces.
Emelia: One pound, eight and a half ounces.
Viktor: One pound, eleven ounces.
The runt. Remember?
Here they are at exactly six weeks old.
In both of these, front to back: Viktor, Blackjack, Emelia Rose.
They love to share their hammock. Love it.
This is Viktor right after the vet appointment. He really felt like crap. He went to the vet and got stuck with sharp things, yes, but he'd already had a bad day: he stepped in poo and got it all over his leg, and required a bath to get it all off before going to the vet. I am sure
bat_cheva, who witnessed the entire sordid affair, will testify that he was howling most pathetically, but did not actually struggle.
A somewhat more serene photo of him, looking absolutely adorable.
You can almost see the adult cat inside him in this picture. They have grown up so fast. So fast. I took these on Thursday, and his ears are already bigger. He's starting to get that "about to take off" look.
Jack and Viktor in the hammock.
Jack and Em in the hammock.
I did manage to get some pictures of Jack, just because I had requests, so here you go:
"You took me to the vet. Do you even know what they did to me? God, I hate you."
Six weeks old and fuzzy!
Just chillin' out.
Jack's tummy! Spotty and fuzzy!
Jack's bottom! Also spotty and fuzzy! So cute! I love the stripes on his tail.
Fish loves these guys. Here they are, right after being let out of their kitty condo. They run right up to greet her.
Sargon says that when
bat_cheva and I left to take them to the vet's, Fish came in and started howling at the top of her fat little lungs, sticking her paws into the cage. She was looking for her little buddies! I brought them home, and as soon as I let them out again, after a little nap, she started washing them fervently. She has really warmed up to them. It is absolutely the sweetest thing.
Here you can see her licking Jack.
He doesn't always care for it. I have to admit, it would be disconcerting being licked by something six times your size.
I'd apologize for spamming your f-list with kitten pictures, but you know, they're six weeks old. They will be going soon. I will miss them terribly.
In this video, you can see how much they love each other. They are all cuddled up in the hammock together, pawing at each other, yawning, purring, and being generally precious. The sheer amount of grey foot and spotty tummy is amazing.
