My Christmas Cheer, Let Me Show You It

Jan 29, 2008 23:07

A month late and several dollars short, but hey, a nine-day blackout will do that for you.

Yes, my Christmas cheer is late, but goddammit, you are going to smile when you see it.

Christmas morning!

Tazendra comes downstairs and looks for her presents.

She's standing on a Girl Genius graphic novel, by the way.

The pile of loot was frightful, but the gifts were so delightful.

I ribboned every single one of Sargon's presents, which may have been excessive considering that 80% of them were schlock movies, but was sure pretty.

That green package in the middle that doesn't match any of the others is full of chocolate-covered ginger. No, there isn't any left.

Thank you to the one responsible. Ahem. You know who you are.

The downstairs tree: nine feet of superhero action!

Behold the pile of gifts, and the enormous DVD shelf behind it, shortly to be inundated with shitty movies!

As you can see, the cats LOVE the Christmas tree. We put down two skirts this year so they wouldn't fight. Note that their weapons systems are still charged and fully operational.

I'm just throwing this in there to show that for all my efforts, my sister pimps out a tree better than anyone else I know. This is her tree, and it truly has to be seen to be believed.

I can, however, make a noble effort.

This is the hideous peacock tree.

It looks better lit up. I took clear lights and replaced every third bulb with a green or blue one. Painstaking, but beautiful.

I love it. So tacky, so lovely. Christmas is not a time for taste or restraint.

Fish, before the festivities begin.

Christmas morning aftermath is hard on the cats.

Tazendra, in a typical hunching posture, guarding the tree and presents from the hideous neighbor felines.

There, now. Don't you feel better?

More later, including a picture of my Christmas tit piercing.

No, srsly.
