Auctions Part Deux

Cool auction news:

I emailed metal band Seasons of the Wolf about my Seasons of the Wolf boxes, asking if it'd be okay if I used the name.

Cool guys that they are, not only did they give me the thumbs up, they have sent me a sampler CD and bumper sticker for the auctions.

I've started the bidding at a paltry $0.99.

The CD contains one song from each of their three previous albums, Seasons of the Wolf, Lost In Hell, and Nocturnal Revelation, as well as a new, unreleased track from their upcoming album, Once In A Blue Moon.

Those links are to Sargon's reviews, and I concur with what he's said. I strongly urge you to go check out their site; their sound is very old-school traditional metal, not unlike Blue Oyster Cult or early Savatage. They're a very neat band, produce all their stuff independently, and are just in general great guys to work with (dude, Sargon got to interview them and got a Christmas card and everything). I'd love to send some business their way. Get more info about the band at their site.

In keeping with the wolf theme, the wonderful cmpriest has donated yet another book. This one is a beautiful brand new copy of her werewolf novel Dreadful Skin. I'm almost finished reading my copy, and it's a damn good book. Moody, dark, but fast-moving, it is a first-rate lycanthropic tale all around.

This is the signed hardcover edition put out by Subterranean Press, complete with eight interior illustrations. Werewolf and horror fans will want to snap this one up for their collection. Go check it out!

Then, there are three glossy coffee-table books topknot sent me, all in great shape, all absolutely beautiful, and all with less than a day to go:

Trail of the Wolf, by R. D. Lawrence
Wolves, by Daniel Wood
Wolves, by Candace Savage

Last but not least, since I've been promising you jewelry, I put the first lot up tonight.

northatlantic of Dust and Stars Designs has contributed six pair of absolutely beautiful beaded earrings based on the flora of Idaho and the Northern Rockies. They are so lovely I was speechless when I took them out of the box, so I'm letting pictures speak for me. Click on 'em to go to the auction.

But wait! What's this? We have another lovely scarf crocheted by apocalypticbob. This one is called "Ice Crystals," and as you can see from the shot, it's a lovely melding of white with pastel pinks, purples and blues. It's wonderful and squishy, and the next-to-last one of these I have.

I know spring is here, so keeping warm is not high on most people's lists, but this is like the earliest Christmas shopping you can possibly do.

Everything is here. Go bid, pimp it along, get things moving! We are coming up on almost $1,000 total in profits for the Bailey Fund. This is incredible. Let's push it up and over, and help keep those wolves where they belong: in the wild doing their bad-ass wolfy thing, and not getting shot to death from airplanes.

The level of support from you guys is amazing and humbling. Thank you. This has gotten bigger than I had ever hoped, and it's going so very well. When I cut that check, I will post the exact figures here. I want you to know how much we manage to do together. I want you to see that we can make a difference. We really can.
