Between replying to emails, painting, writing, and preparing for Sargon's birthday tomorrow, I only have a minute, but I want to show you something pretty.
Remember the last post, where I talked about the assholes in Idaho, and the auction I am sort-of planning? Well, I've finished the first box.
Pop on over to
Morningstar, or just read on for the skinny, and for pretty, pretty pictures.
This one's called "Spring Princess." I'm halfway through "Summer King" now and hope to have all four done soon. They are all this medium size, 5" x 3.25" x 2.75", which is quick and fun to work on.
There is the front panel, and the top looking not so blazingly reflective.
The side and back, looking pretty.
And the back, complete with wolf print. The cool thing about wolf prints is that the space between the toes makes a sort of star shape if you draw them right.
Hope you enjoyed looking, and I hope you will consider bidding when the auction goes up.
I'm going to offer free perfume customization on any of these, which means a little imp holder in the bottom. I'll be doing three more after this, and am hoping to pair each one with some other goodies; jewelry, art, tee-shirts, and the like. I'll probably be putting some of my own bottles of limited edition Black Phoenix blends up with them.
The auction will be through eBay, and all proceeds will go to
Defenders of Wildlife to help prevent the eradication of wolves from the Northern Rockies. I will keep only what I need to cover shipping to the winners.
The statement on MorningstarHall.com stands; if you're an artist and have something small and shiny you would like to contribute, sing out. Likewise, if you have a nice clean bottle of BPAL that isn't loving you that you'd be willing to part with for a low price or for free, let me know that, too.
I swear, I don't want to become one of those annoying-ass twatwaffles who carps on and on about latest cause this and benefit that and please send me money, but Jesus Walter Chronkite Christ humping a day-glo poodle, I am not going to sit idly by while asshat politicians allow my favorite wild animal to be hunted back onto the endangered list.
I promise, when I plug the auctions, there will at least be pretty pictures to look at.
Also, as a final note, the tribal part of this design owes a lot to
Christy Grandjean, aka
goldenwolfen, who did
this lovely piece, which I haven't been able to get out of my head since I first saw it. I hope she doesn't mind my taking inspiration from it in this fashion, and I encourage all of you to go, admire her art, and buy it if you can.
Thank y'all for your time. There's some cheesecake for ya.
Edit: If you've contacted me about sending something, I meant to get to emailing you about what do do today. I will get back to you tonight in the wee hours, or tomorrow. Right now, I need to take a break 'cause my head is splitting. Too much 'puter. Owie.
