The Most Burning Question . . .

Why do cats run out of the litter box after they're through using it?

I really want to know. Because it seems completely stupid.

My black cat, variously referred to as Mocus, Goblin, Stinker, and Bumble (her real name is Tazendra, but we never call her that) always races out of the litter as if the smell of her poop poses an imminent threat to her safety. She scrabbles across the kitchen floor and all the way into either the living room or the computer room (depending on which way she turns), scattering litter all the way. She does it even when she pees.

I have been led to understand that she is not unique in this behavior. It still puzzles me.

At any rate, hardly any work is getting done on the Sisterhood (I've hit a bind -- out of the hundred ways available, how should I kill my villain? I really have to pick!), but I've been pecking away at my next project, so I'm not a completely useless wench.

I'm a first-rate litter-sweeper. I'll tell you that.
