Fish hat status and... surgery?
The fish hat is about 1 hour from completion. The trout is done and it looks AWESOME. The hat just needs the crown finished, the tassels tied to the ear flaps, and the trout attached. I will finish it tonight in time for the Sportsman's Show on Friday, where Rob plans to wear it proudly. Yes, there will be photos, as soon as we can find the card reader for the camera. Phooey.
To celebrate, I'll be having surgery on my right wrist on the 19th. Turns out this recurring tendinitis and constant inability to push down on anything is due to a ganglion cyst on the back of my wrist. Rather than aspirating it - or attempting to crush it with a heavy book - the hand surgeon will remove it. I waited 3 weeks for an appointment with the guy to get his diagnosis. He spent 5 minutes with me. They wanted to schedule me for surgery tomorrow. Wha....???
I'll have full use of my fingers almost immediately, but my wrist will be splinted for a couple of weeks. So, while I'll be able to work, I won't be able to knit. Phooey.
