Helping out some friends in need.
Those of you who know Jay and Pam Smith are aware that their family has been through a lot in the last week. Their son, Bobby, was in a bad auto accident, had a large hole in his diaphragm, and today is having surgery on his hip/leg, I believe, and it isn't over yet. Once the broken bones are addressed, there will be rehab.
Pam is out of paid time off and will be allowed to take care of her son without risking her job, but she won't have income for those days. The holidays and the expensive heating months are almost upon us, and I thought that those of us who aren't close enough to help physically might be able to help by chipping in what we can afford to give to help them through this difficult time.
