Working for how long?

Apr 20, 2014 21:00

It's been a fairly relaxing weekend, but it's back to work tomorrow. The only question I have right now is how many more Mondays I can expect. The person I'm filling in for was supposed to be back tomorrow, but didn't get released by the doctor, so I'm guaranteed at least this week. Then I have to teach them all the changes in procedures that have taken place since January. That'll take at least another two weeks. So I know I'm locked in for that long.

My manager and my director both want to keep me longer than that, because there are a couple of projects I'm hip-deep in that they don't want to lose my help with. "Longer" is still open to interpretation, though, and is dependent on approval from various senior execs.

The long and short, therefore, is that in three weeks I may or may not be employed. Again.

Would it be too much to ask for someone to pick me up full-time and keep me for the next 15 years or so? Please?

I'll bring chocolate.

Or bacon.

Or chocolate-covered bacon, if that's what they're into.
