Word to your mother.
Aiight son, so here's a catch-up on my life since I'm completely incapable of updating this thing (and I say this every time I write a new entry... I'm aware).
My name is Lisa. I'm a junior in college (1.5 years left--God willing). I'm studying Nursing. In four days I'm going to JAMAICA where I get to be a nurse. I got a new car, it's a Nissan Murano, and it's "Saharan Sandstone" or something weird like that--pretty much it's like tan. My doggie Jake is sick, and this is concerning because he's old so everyone is afraid he's dying, and that's sad/scary. I'm encircled in a mess of random things I need to pack for this trip but have no desire to do so. I got a pedicure today, my toes are PURPLE and they have a cute little flower on the big toe... I messed up my right toe by dropping a Bath and Body Works BODY BUTTER on it. Those mofos are heavy and HUGE. I'm sure I'll get a cute little bruise soon too :) I got a Wii Fit for Christmas and I adore it. I bought fun scrapbook paper at Michael's today to make door tags for my floor... yet realized the best idea would be to not make them until I got back and saw if anyone moved in/out.
Ummm, so I was scanning through a couple previous entries and was reading how torn I was about this trip. I'm glad I decided to go. It really is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to provide care in a completely different atmosphere. And even though this whole process has been obnoxiously annoying (in relation to disorganization, buying loads of extra stuff and increasing my stress levels over stupid stuff) yet I find that at some point there will be a pay off, haha.
So the biggest stress level has been these public health bags we're in charge of assembling. We have to have all of this stuff in it that will allow us to take care of wounds and whatever. There were these specific directions on what to include, the type of bag to use, etc. I was like F THAT SON, I DO WHAT I WANT. Soooo, I pretty much just got a pink bag and put in it what they said. So I really wasn't revolting as much I was using a pink bag.
Yeah that whole section was pointless, MY B. =]
All I've eaten today was a bagel (with veggie cream cheese) and a snickers. That's probably not a healthy combo, but I don't feel too hot so I'm not gonna push it.
My iron has been so low lately and I'm not down with that. That's scary! I went to try and donate blood on Christmas Eve and my level was 11.9**. That 11.9 was after I had two multivitamins with 100% iron and had spinach salad the night before. That's bad! I was soooo bummed, haha. Roar. Maybe I need to bump up to a iron supplement alone, no other stuff in it. That's gonna suck balls though, I don't want to have to take it ALL the time like that. But obviously this whole eating iron enriched foods thing doesn't help anyway. I just realized something--why is there iron enriched cereal if you have to eat it with milk? You're not supposed to mix iron and calcium or milk products because they'll decrease absorption. Completely pointless unless you eat your cereal dry. Which, not gonna lie, I do sometimes... but a good amount of the public doesn't. Hmm, random thought. I'm done now :)
Well, I believe that's all I have for now. Off to pack I suppose.
Farewell <3
EDIT: ** You need to have 12.5 to donate any form of blood, 13-something to donate for Double Reds (I believe--correct me if anyone knows the exact numbers).
