Progress Update:
13A:
Slides shot: 107
Slides written: 75
But, if you're wondering, I can't just publish ^that bit and work on the rest as a separate installment because there are gaps between some of the shot and written parts. It seems like it's going to be a longer chapter than usual. Probably take ages to upload when it's finished too.
Some of the things I have left to shoot are pretty minor day-to-day occurrence things; I need some shots of Liv on the phone (she's actually always calling other households in-game, but this is plot related), at least one shot of a pregnancy bump and a birth and Liv's birthday. And probably several 'zomg baby' shots.
Then there's more stage-y scenes of Lyle bringing Elliot over (*mandatory squee*), a conversation between Liv, Mia and Juan, then a subsequent conversation between Mia and Juan, then another subsequent conversation between Juan and Seth, and Liv getting engaged.
And I have to write it all then.
13B - Well, if I haven't finished 13A I certainly haven't started 13B yet. And the amount of staging I'm going to have to do is going to be inhuman and probably the most difficult thing I've ever done on the sims if I try to get it to look right and natural. And hopefully my game won't crash too much with the number of sims I'm going to have to have playable at once.
But I think I know most of the things that are going to happen in it. As I've mentioned, the whole chapter is essentially one wedding, but there are so many conversations and things that are going to be established that it probably will warrant a whole chapter on its own. Not sure how long it'll be yet though. Almost certainly not as long as 13A, it'll just be all the shooting and staging and stuff...
10,000 words - I guess I've been making progress on this with the small bits I write here and there, but I'm not going to count them up until closer to the end of the month. I'll probably surpass this bit without trying anyway...
Otherwise: I haven't been making much progress because I've been playing the main neighbourhood for babies. Should be able to show you some interesting pictures of generation 4 soon though. It's taking quite a long time though because of the sheer quantity of children some sims are having; more specifically, Jose's having 6 kids and Liv's having 5. Yeah. This is part of the reason I am playing ahead though; 6 kids is difficult, this we know. Or, at least, it's not that difficult, but harking back to generation 2, it's easy to get too absorbed in keeping everyone alive and sane and winding up with a bunch of sims with no established personality (see: Rick and Allen) and no memorability. Playing ahead to meet the kids now means that I know who has what personality and can plan what they're going to be like and do and make sure I establish that when I remake and play them on the new laptop. Plus, using my original neighbourhood means that their genetics are actually correct for as long as possible before I figure out how to alter stuff in SimPE. I've met 4 of Jose's kids so far, only one of Liv's but she's pregnant again so we'll see how all that goes. At the current projection (assuming no more accidental twins in one-slots) there should be 29 sims in generation 4. Don't worry, you won't be expected to remember them all ;)
As for non-sims, feeling a lot more motivated about my schoolwork this semester (though that's not saying much in comparison to last semester), so I think I'm actually going to try and do well. I attribute this to my American Civil War history module. Have I told you that I love America lately? I'm kind of using it as my motivating dream-on-a-pedestal as somewhere to live in future, though I don't know even which state I'd go for (maybe I'd just do some time out travelling over there) and I daresay nowhere would live up to my idealised expectations especially as I wouldn't know anyone and unless the world economy picks up soon who knows how I'd get a job or whatever, but that's what dreams should be: theoretically attainable, but realistically way out of reach :P
