February in Belize?
I've been feeling down a lot lately, partly due to excess neuronal energy. In other words, I need a project!
So I finally got up the nerve to email my favourite yoga teacher, Barrett, about organizing a yoga retreat at Ak'bol in Belize. The pitch: I do all the organization, she shows up and teaches. If we get enough people, we both get to go for free; if we fall short, I make up the difference for my own accommodations.
After class tonight she confessed that she is sorely tempted. It didn't hurt that her husband said, "Oh, Ambergris Caye! The scuba diving there is amazing!". She has wanted to do a retreat for a while but was intimidated by the amount of organization involved. Perfect! I told her I used to organize 200-person conventions for fun. Getting fifteen people to Belize for a week? Piece of cake.
Upshot: she wants to hear more. Yay! I will be so psyched if she says yes. We both agree that the best time to go on a tropical vacation is late February, so that would be the timeframe.
