Anyone interested in going with me to a "tango crash course" the evening of July 21?
*NEW!!! Argentine Tango Crash Course with AnaLinda Marcus!*
*In Boston’s North End*
*At the Jeanette Neill Dance Studio*
Wednesday, July 21st 6:30- 10p
NO dance experience, nor partner required!
The underworld of authentic Argentine Tango is a fascinating place. You dance with friends and strangers for hours knowing only the magic of improvisation and mutual dance dialog. To accomplish this each partner
learns a language that is universal, but combines infinitely, and with clarity. This crash course will teach those skills. Later the Argentine Tango dancer elaborates their own construction of the dance and followers participate with their special musical energy and influence. The dance communicates sensuality, emotion, and power. Tango celebrates connection. You can dance tango in venues across the city and world-wide. We will learn the basic elements, and practice drills. Join me and my assistant Paul Walcott in opening the Pandora's Box that is Argentine tango. Based on the response to this course can continue with more advanced offerings.

*AnaLinda’s Capsule Biography*
AnaLinda has been a social dancer form from hip hop through Salsa for 40 years. Argentine Tango became her obsession as soon as she found it. She hales from New York but has lived and taught Tango in Boston for almost a decade. Though she has performed Latin Dance for as long, she now concentrates on the internal connection between a dance pair and shows dancers how to externalize that connection so the dance is aesthetically beautiful. She has taught and performed all over New England and is currently on the faculty of the Dance Complex, in Cambridge as well as teaching privately in her studio in the South End.
