Another from the OH NO HE DIDN'T file: Canadian PM claims that Canada has no history of "colonialism". What makes me even sadder is that I can't find any mention of this in the Globe & Mail. I heard about it from desiringsubject. It also reminds me of the CBC interview I saw years ago with one of the architects of South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation ( Read more... )

It does seem, as lightcastle said, "a bit wacky at first glance", but the UK does have one of the biggest teen pregnancy rates out there & nothing seems to be helping to bring those numbers down. Perhaps something a bit more institutional will help to discourage getting knocked up in order to get free housing (which, having been there & met a few single teen mothers, I know is the reasoning behind some of their decisions)...

Also, I'm very happy to hear that Gardasil wasn't actually a factor in the girl's death. I mean, it still sucks that she died, but at least it wasn't caused by the vaccine.
