Another from the OH NO HE DIDN'T file: Canadian PM claims that Canada has no history of "colonialism". What makes me even sadder is that I can't find any mention of this in the Globe & Mail. I heard about it from desiringsubject. It also reminds me of the CBC interview I saw years ago with one of the architects of South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation committees. He said that a lot of countries, including Canada, could benefit from such a process. The clueless interviewer was all, "What? Canada? Huh?". To which the interviewee responded, "Well, yes, your history with the aboriginal peoples -- the broken treaties, the residential schools, and so on...".
