My yoga teacher points out
The Birth Survey. The project is aimed at compiling women's experiences with American maternity-care practitioners and facilities in order to provide assistance for women choosing which ones they want to interact with for their care. If you've been pregnant in the States in the last three years, they're looking for your opinion. They are also looking for
monetary donations and
volunteers.
From Motherlode,
a post on teaching children about money, work, and self-sufficiency. I think it would be nice to have more financial literacy training in schools; but on the other hand, schools can't teach everything -- there's just not enough time. On the third hand, many parents don't have that kind of knowledge themselves, and you can't teach what you don't know. And lastly, given the recent events, one might argue that financial education is as important as sex education in keeping society as a whole healthy.
