Harvard to endow chair in LGBT studies, believed to be a first for an American school.

According to a new report by the National Academies, women are underrepresented in the applicant pools for faculty and tenure positions in math, science, and engineering, but are being selected for those positions in equal proportions to men.

Similarly, a University of Wisconsin study has shown that girls have closed the math gap in the US. Furthermore, in analyzing data from around the world, they found that the size of the "math gap" between genders is correlated with gender equality in the prevailing culture. Take that, evolutionary psychologists!
