Hi, I am going to bug everyone with another apartment/roommate-hunting post. I am looking for an apartment starting in May, and would ideally like to sign a year-long lease (May 07-May 08), as I both plan to stay in Boston this summer and will graduate in 2008. Obviously, it would be much easier and more cost-effective if I had a roommate or two.
--I am female, 20 (21 in May). I am not picky regarding the gender of my roommate.
--I am fairly quiet. I do not plan on having parties in the apartment, although occasionally I might have one or two people over to watch movies, etc. However, I do go out on Friday and Saturday nights and come back late pretty regularly.
--I am a smoker, however, I will not smoke in the apartment if my roommates request it.
--While I am a little cluttered in my own room, I am NOT a slob. I purchased all of the cleaning supplies in my current (on-campus) apartment, and clean/wash the dishes regularly--in fact, a sink full of old, dirty dishes is just about the grossest thing I can think of. I also consider myself to be good about taking out the trash.
--I know I am a little harsh around here sometimes :D, I actually consider myself to be a fairly easy person to get along with. I have an absolutely wonderful relationship with my current roommates and am generally sorry to part with them.
--HERE'S THE BIG CAVEAT: I have a dog (I am moving off-campus so he can live with me). His name is Malcolm, and he is a 7 and 1/2 month old puggle (half pug, half beagle). He will weigh about 25 pounds full-grown (he's almost there). He is completely housebroken. I ALWAYS put him in his crate before I leave so he does not tear anything up. He LOVES everyone and is basically a big lap dog, so he might try to come cuddle with you from time-to-time, although I expect he will spend most of his time following me around, as he has done since he was a puppy. If you don't want him to, a very firm "NO" should get the message across, but it is probably best if you like dogs. He gets along great with other dogs and cats, and in fact I would love it if he had another dog to play with.
I don't have too many requirements in a roommate, just be:
--Fairly clean. I am not the kind of person who makes out chore schedules (though it's fine if you want to), but I do expect everyone to do their part--as long as I'm not doing everything, I'm happy.
--No parties on weeknights. I generally have class one half of the day and work the other half, so I am almost always up before 9 on weekdays. Parties on weekends are fine, just let me know in advance.
I am interested in an apartment in Allston, Brookline, or Brighton. The absolute most I am able to pay is $800/month, before utilities. I am willing to do most of the apartment-hunting, although obviously you would have input. Remember, I want a apartment from MAY 07 to MAY 08, not September.
If you think you'd like to live together, you can contact me at scarymonsterrrr at gmail.com. Thanks!
