everywhere you go, always take the weather with you

Dude, Wellington - wtf is with the weather?

Seriously, it has been pouring with rain for the last 24 hours. Not only that, but with winds strong enough to knock you off your feet! Oh, and the best part is? It’s supposed to be this way for the rest of the week.

Seriously not cool.

So I got drenched just walking in to school this morning, and walking to my first class. Then at lunch time, my Dad txted me to say that there was serious flooding down our street and that I needed to catch the bus home with my little brother. So again, I got drenched to the bone walking to the bus stop, and had to wait in the rain for twenty minutes for my bus to arrive.

Eventually we all made it home, but only to find my Dad wasn’t kidding about the flooding. A lot of properties down my street were almost underwater! Our neighbors could barely get their car across their driveway, as the river had flooded over it. Oh, but the best part was only to come! As soon as we headed up the driveway, and tried to open our automatic garage door, we realized there was a power cut.

The power cut lasted for about an hour and a half (which really isn’t much compared to the 48 hour ones we had the last time there was a bad storm), but it seriously isn’t fun when you’re soaking wet, freezing cold and dying for a mug of warm milo.

But yay! The power came on eventually, and all was well. Although, if the weather keeps up this way  we’ll all have to stay home from school tomorrow. Not that I’m complaining!
