Time for trip recap!

Arrived at 10pm to some lovely 29C weather that with humidity was reported to feel like 34C. Awesome, only not. It was nighttime. Nighttime should not be that hot and gross. Spent a lovely 15 min outside waiting to get picked up, acquiring a layer of sweat. lol

Anyway, my sister had to work during the week so she left me a key and it was up to me to keep myself amused during the day.

I already had plans to reenact my last visit, so the next morning off I went to Yonge Street to do my used bookstore run! I asked Clinton if he wanted me to look for anything so he sent me a bunch of titles to keep an eye out for. I think a bunch closed down since the last time I visited because I remember there being more of them but this time there was only about three or four on Yonge Street.

Either way, I also stopped off at World's Biggest Bookstore (a branch of Chapters/Indigo) and BMV Books next door. I later discovered BMV Books had another branch up north, but that comes later. I've noticed that this one used bookstore on Yonge has a guy that always seems to be in a bad mood - kind of makes me not want to go back the next time, lol. The rest of them are all perfectly nice though.

I acquired several books for myself and found an almost brand-new copy of 'The Hobbit' for Clinton, as well as buying 'Wizard of the Grove' by Tanya Huff for Tina for her birthday.

I met up with my sister at Pickle Barrel for dinner in Toronto Eaton Centre. While I was sitting outside Bath & Body Works waiting for her, some creepy guy decided to sit down right beside me, despite the rest of the bench being empty. Ugh. I pointedly ignored him before deciding to go see what was on sale in B&BW.

The next day, I trekked up to the BMV Books up on Bloor as I discovered it was there while searching on Google Maps. I want to live in that bookstore. lol The entire third floor was devoted to comics and sci-fi/fantasy. Then I went from one corner of the city down to the other corner of the city to visit St. Lawrence Market.

My sister suggested a cheese/sausage/cracker/wine dinner so I picked up a nice brie and smoked mozzarella and chorizo sausage. And super ripe mangoes that I had gotten with insomnikat on my first visit to Toronto.

Thursday was my last major used bookstore run and I visited a bunch of locations I saved on my map. While on my way to one of them, I noticed yet ANOTHER BMV Books, only smaller, and I popped inside. It was here that I finally found a copy of 'World War Z' for Clinton (I had been looking the entire time) that looked brand-new and was only $6.99. Yay!

That was also the day that I saw Colin Mochrie interviewing people for TD Bank on the street. Unfortunately, he was not doing anything particularly funny at the time. lol

Afterward I just went and lazed about back at my sister's place. I met up with her and Chris for Venezuelan food for dinner - a sort of sandwich made out of cornbread. It was pretty good! And next door was a place that sold the Toasted Marshmallow ice cream OMG. That stuff is amazing, I love it.

The neeext day, I did one last visit to the nearest BMV Books and World's Biggest Bookstore and then I was tired and hot so I went back and watched TV. lol

That night we went out for Ethiopian food and the bill was stupid. We had three people but she assumed it wasn't enough food for us, so she gave us double of one of the dishes without asking and expected us to pay for it. Uh, no? Because we didn't order it? Honestly, who does that?? You can't just give customers something they didn't ask for and then expect them to pay for it in the end. So my sister argued with her until she cut it down to just like, $3 extra, which is still stupid but yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if they did that to a lot of people and they just ended up paying for it.

Saturday I went and saw my sister's office at the hospital and then met up with Chris who drove us to TigerDirect, Kitchen Stuff Plus and after getting his sister, to Ribfest. :D The ribs were good.

Sunday I had to get up early since my flight was at 8:15am. I was falling asleep so I napped a little bit but then ended up watching 'Say Yes to the Dress' the rest of the flight because that show is oddly addictive. lol

I helped a bit with moving overall - her old place is cleaned out and all that's left at the new condo is to unpack everything properly and get a few decorative things.

I had fun! ... and now have yet another pile of books to put somewhere. lol

Oh right, and my multiple treks downtown brought me past people handing out samples each time, so by the end of it, I acquired a good number of sample Veet waxing strips, haha. I probably have enough for both legs. lol

I came back to a pile of stuff waiting for me at work. I still haven't gotten through everything because a few extra things popped up today. But hopefully I'll be caught up on the backlog by tomorrow. lol
