Nation, if you have any appreciation at all for political satire, you MUST SEE THIS FILM! I was fortunate enough to get a free pass for an advance screening of In The Loop this evening (see, Public Radio memberships are good for something!), and I cannot remember the last time I laughed out loud so often in a theater. It's incredibly intelligent, cynical and sarcastic; most of the characters are despicable for one reason or other, but they are still human enough to be sympathetic...occasionally. Be warned though, Peter Capaldi's character has a gift for profanity that would put Jon Stewart to shame :p
Wow, so far in July I've been to see more movies at the movies than I did in the first six months of the year (three!). And now look: I have another free pass for Monday to the documentary The Cove; I'm going to try to see (500) Days of Summer sometime this week; and, oh dear,
Screenings Under the Stars is showing Baby Mama for free at Penn's Landing next week--free Tina Fey! I can't miss that :D No, wait, I can miss that, it's the same day as Fleet Foxes >_< Ah well, good to have a backup plan ;)
IS HUNGRY! Must go pull that chicken out of the oven--
