From where he was seated on his brave and valiant steed Caesar made his way through the streets of Rome. Surrounded by his Praetorian Guards, the man held his head up high, proud of his victory in Egypt, in Gaul, and glad to be home once more to govern over his people with wisdom and purpose while they assembled around his men, along the stone roads to celebrate the army's homecoming. Atop his crown, he wore a laurel wreath of honor and distinction, a mark of the great efforts he and his army had made to defend and expand the Empire of Rome.
The roar of the crowd was deafening, echoing through the city as his troops marched in behind him, heroes to most and fools to others, but always they stood as a symbol of loyalty to the Roman laws that shaped all of their lives.
