Michael and I just escaped school on the (pseudo-)Vespa. It was awesome. We so didn't fit. And I was really rather incapable of stopping or turning. And its probably a bit illegal. I had the most deliriously beautiful drive home yesterday. The fog masks the world with a kind of decadence unknown to the sun...or something far less pretentious and infinitely more eloquent. What did I do today? I went driving. As in on the road amongst the cars and street signs and small children on bikes, and I did not crash. It was amazing. My Vespa-like-entity is the greatest thing in the history of the universe.

Mother placed a phone call to the DMV for me this morning. They assured her that I could in fact drive a moped / vespa-like-entity on a drivers permit if I so wished. That makes me exceeedingly happy. Though nothing is for certain, it looks like I may not be walking home from school anymore! I think I need a new, helmet-compatible hairstyle!!!

What is the difference between letting life pass me by and waiting for some kind of opportunity to arise? Where is the line drawn between leaving things to fate/chance/"meant to be"s/whatever and not acting upon anything?
